ARCHIVE TRAINEE, ARCHIVES AND COLLECTIONS
Studio Operations

The merger of NBC and Universal created one of the world’s most
profitable and fastest growing media companies with an estimated
value of $43 billion and strong industry positions in both content and
distribution.

Under direction of the Archivist, you will assist in the physical
selection, organizing and housing of materials such as props,
wardrobe set pieces, and historic artifacts. You'll also create condition
reports and descriptive records of artifacts using keywords, controlled
vocabularies and museum and archive terminology. Adherence to
archival and museum methodologies and standards adopted by the
department is essential to ensure consistency and accuracy in these
reports.

After an introduction to the Archives' collection and procedures, you will
work independently and consult regularly with the Archivists on
questions about materials and procedures. Research on
film/television product and company history will accompany any and
all processing efforts, including online research, viewing of film
product, and telephone contact with responsible departments or
outside institutions.

Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree, preferably in history, photography, humanities, or
arts, with 1-2 years work experience in a corporate archive, library,
museum, or art gallery setting.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated with good organizational and
writing skills.
• The ability to conceptualize, draw conclusions, and make decisions
based on information provided.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, as
well as database management systems.
• The ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferences:
• Experience in a registrar's department.
• Previous experience in handling fragile objects and documents.
• Knowledge in the history of film and the entertainment industry.

Nowhere in this universe will you find more powerful opportunities to
contribute to changes taking place in the industry. We offer competitive
compensation, excellent benefits and involvement in the world of
entertainment. As a member of Archives & Collections, you'll help
shape the future in the company of "Great People Doing Great
Things."
