Hello--this is Robert Knafo, NY-based independent curator, critic, and
editor of the new e-publication Studio Visit (SV). First-time poster.

I'm writing about SV. SV is a new monthly electronic periodical about
contemporary art and emerging artists, with a core readership of private
collectors and museum and other institutional curators. The editor's
introduction is reproduced below fyi.

I think SV may be of particular interest to some Museum-L subscribers, and
I would like to extend an invitation to Museum-L subscribers to receive
the April 2004 debut issue of SV.

SV is only available in PDF format. Delivery is via email as a PDF
attachment. File size is about 300-400 Kb. Interested Museum-L members can
email to this address ([log in to unmask]) or better yet to
[log in to unmask] with a request for SV1. Please indicate that you
are replying to this invitation.

Regards, Robert

____________

Welcome to the debut issue of Studio Visit...please call us SV!

SV is a monthly, illustrated electronic periodical for collectors of
contemporary art. SV is a new hybrid--part art magazine, virtual
exhibition, documentary, and art consultant’s report. Each month SV
presents profiles of some of the most interesting artists working today,
an in-depth perspective on what they have been doing recently, and an
opportunity to collect their work. By special arrangement with the
artists, the art reproduced in SV, and in some cases closely related
works, are made available to SV subscribers. Please let us know if you
would like to view in person the art you read about in SV.)

SV grows out a belief that the time is right for innovative ways to
explore and acquire significant, museum-worthy contemporary art. Whenever
possible, SV will document a studio visit with a featured artist, and
present new work before it has left the studio. Sometimes an issue of SV
will be thematic, as in this debut issue. In any event, SV will be a
vehicle for the discovery of new art, and especially by emerging artists.

Last month (Mar. 12-15 2004) at the invitation of -scope art fair in New
York, I curated a group show called Significant Anomaly. The artists in
Significant Anomaly induce odd changes in familiar things.

Elizabeth Demaray, Showichi Kaneda, Chuck Ramirez, Andreas Schulenburg,
Shoba, Katrin Sigurdardottir, Luis Miguel Suro, and Julianne Swartz
(Whitney Biennial 2004 participant) are the artists in Significant
Anomaly, and they are featured as well in the debut issue of SV.

We look forward to taking you on a monthly trek into the contemporary art
landscape. Subscriber feedback is warmly welcome. We hope you enjoy
SV1!

Best,

Robert Knafo
