        I strongly recommend Alexander's Museums in Motion:  An
Introduction to the History and Functions of Museums
(Nashville, Amer Assn for State and Lcl Hist).  I have used it
for two or three years as one of my texts in an intro
ugrad/grad course and have yet to find a better starter book.
