This message is being cross-posted to several listservs. My apologies for
the inconvenience of duplication!

Both Leigh Gates, VRA Secretary and conference pre-registration coordinator,
and I, your Crazed Conference Coordinator, have received a number of
requests, both by telephone and via electronic mail, asking for confirmation
of individual registrations for the upcoming Visual Resources Association
annual meeting in San Antonio. What started out as a small trickle is
threatening to become a flood.

I know it is unnerving to have sent in your registration materials in
October or November, and not have heard anything since. However, if you
look in the pre-registration brochure, under "Pre-Registration," there is
the following note: "If you require written notification conerning your
registration, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Telephone
calls and electronic mail messages requesting this information cannot be
returned." Imagine the extra time--nevermind the postage--of confirming
individual registrations, and you will understand why we asked registrants
to send a SASE along with their registration forms...

We will answer all the questions we can, but please, if you sent your
registration in early, trust your home institutions that it went
through.

If you have _not_ sent your registration forms in, please do so: in
order to be eligible for the pre-registration conference rate, your
forms must be postmarked no later than January 1, 1995, and mailed
somewhere on the North American continent.

See you all in San Antonio--I'll be easy to spot: look for the bald
woman in half-specs trying to be 10 places at once.

Happy Holidays to all--

Jenni Rodda, VRA VP
