Not to drag this on but...

(kill the SOBs) is the most challenging part of the work. I'd suggest Deb
and any others who are interested begin getting to know some of those who
are 12-14 years old. Then, report back.

Challenge met and accepted. I live right outside of Washington, DC. My high
school was recently featured in "Remember the Titans" so you know some of
the background of the school system that I grew up in. Alexandria City is
has one of the most diverse populations in the world. Not only did I have
friends who walked 24 days to freedom out of El Salvador, I also knew the
co-captain of our football team that was arrested twice for crack. I've
done work with all sorts of "At-risk" children from pre-schoolers whose
only stimulation is the TV and are developmentally delayed because of it to
visiting prisoners at the local jail.

So Ross, please don't assume that others on this list don't understand.
Heck, some of them might even have been labled "At-risk" as children. I
respect your work with these children. Have some respect for the rest of us
as well.

Deb
