Yikes! As if the Y2K problem wasn't enough, we now seem to have
a Y19.99K problem!!! Speaking of which, I just heard that
September 9, 1999, which programmers routinely code as "9999" has
the same code "9999" which is used to test out computer programs,
and will cause many computers to go into a non-working test mode
when it hits. I am now frantically pencilling into a PAPER
calendar (not trusting my palmtop scheduler or desktop for this)
both Sept. 9, 1999 AND January 1, 2000 as days to stay home
cowering under the covers....

Techno-paranoically yours ;)
