The Tech Museum of Innovation
Full-Time Positions Available
Exhibit Facilitators

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Tech features many hands-on exhibits. Visitors are invited to use
computers, climb into our bobsled exhibit, have their picture taken, and do
many other activities in our exhibit galleries. Our Exhibit Facilitators
assist the museum's visitors with these activities.

Exhibit Facilitators will be trained to operate many of The Tech's most
popular exhibits. They will be assigned to different areas of the museum at
different times. While working in the museum, the Facilitators report to
the Exhibit Hall Coordinator in charge of their area.  The Exhibit
Facilitator is a full-time, non-exempt position. Multiple openings are
available.

Responsibilities:
-Facilitate crowd control.  Help museum visitors form a line when crowds
form at an exhibit.
-Explain to each visitor how to use the exhibit when their turn comes.
-Keep the visitors moving so that others can have a chance at using a
popular exhibit.
-Make sure that visitors use the exhibits safely and treat them with care.
-Answer questions about the museum, provide directions to other galleries,
etc.
-Assist visitors with special needs, including locating lost children,
helping visitors with physical disabilities, etc.
-Assist other Gallery Operations staff with emergency situations including
evacuations.

Requirements:
-High school diploma.
-Good customer service skills, friendly and willing to help people.
-Dependable and self-motivated.
-High interest in education, science and technology.
-Ability to communicate in English effectively, fluency in additional
languages highly desirable.
-Computer literate.  A background in science is NOT required.
-Experience working with children and large groups is a plus.
-Willingness to work one weekend day each week. Willingness to work on both
weekend days is a plus.
-Ability to stand for extended periods, bend and lift repeatedly.
