AAM Accepting Applications for International Partnership Program

The American Association of Museums is pleased to begin accepting
applications for the 1999-2001 cycle of the International Partnerships
Among Museums (IPAM) program. Contingent on funding from the U.S.
Information Agency, IPAM partnerships will be awarded at the end of 1999
for exchanges that occur between the spring of 2000 and the spring of
2001.

IPAM provides U.S. museums with a unique opportunity to
establish lasting ties with partner institutions outside this country by
developing and conducting joint or complementary projects. The goal of
the IPAM program is to establish mutually beneficial and sustainable
linkages between U.S. and non-U.S. museums with similar missions. IPAM
is intended to promote institutional development while enhancing the
participating museums' ability to enrich their own communities.

Participating institutions exchange mid-level staff members for
minimum 31-day residencies to undertake predetermined cooperative
projects. IPAM grants provide round-trip transportation for both
partners (U.S. and foreign) as well as per diem and other allowances.

For additional information about the program, or to receive an
IPAM informational brochure and application form, contact Krista Schepis
