The Westchester Children’s Museum (WCM), founded by parents, civic and
business leaders, and educators, is dedicated to forming a community-driven
museum for the children of New York’s Westchester County.  The WCM is
seeking an Executive Director to collaborate with the Board on the building
program for its new $27 million, 30,000 square foot home at historic Rye
Playland, scheduled to open in late 2005. The Executive Director will
oversee the development of exhibits and programs, refine collection
policies, and build the infrastructure necessary to transition to an
independently functioning organization. He/she will drive capital
initiatives, manage budgets and staff, and inspire growth. The ideal
candidate will be a visionary leader with 7-10 years of related
professional experience (museum start-up a plus); a proven managerial
record; fundraising expertise; dedication to and knowledge of children’s
needs; and an understanding of the diverse populations of Westchester
