Okay people, calm down. To all new Museum-L members who are appalled at the
recent "banter" over this list's functions, etc. Topics like this take off
every summer.

If it bothers you, or if you have better things to do, follow the list on
the Archives at http://home.ease.lsoft.com/archives/museum-l.html. At your
leisure you can peruse a week's worth of postings arranged by subject lines
so you can focus on your current interests. Use the search tool to find
postings dealing with list etiquette, how to conduct an interview, past
postings from or about the institution you are applying to. You can also
search for other favorite summer ranting topics, such as: Museum's don't pay
enough; let's unionize; places to see and eat while you are vacationing
almost any where; people complaining that they're too busy to take a
vacation; humor/horror stories (it's hard to tell the difference sometimes.)
You can always re-subscribe to the list once summer is over.
