The American Association of Museums and its Meetings & Professional
Education Dept. wish to inform museum professionals of AAM's upcoming seminar

CURRENT ISSUES IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Denver, Colorado
Sept. 26-28, 1996

This sixth annual seminar is intended primarily for directors, financial
officers, development officers, senior administrators, trustees,
consultants and others.

This year's program will explore principles and strategies for long-term
financial planning; budgeting, financing and the use of new technologies;
and honing negotiations skills both within the museum and in
partnership with other institutions.

The seminar begins at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 26. Sessions will focus
on the topic "Emerging Issues in Financial Management."

On Friday, Sept. 27, morning sessions will focus on "Long-Term Financial
Planning and Development." Afternoon sessions, "Finance and New
Technologies."

On Saturday, Sept. 27, sessions will focus on the theme "Negotiation
Skills for Cooperation, Clarity and Action."

Receptions are planned for Thursday and Friday evenings.

The Warwick is also the host hotel for the seminar, with special rates
available for those attending.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: AAM's new organizational workshop, "New
Visions: A Tool for Change in Museums" will take place on the day
preceding the seminar, Wed., Sept. 25, also at the Warwick Hotel in
Denver. The workshop takes place from 9:00 to 5:00. A "User's Network"
gathering will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

The registration fee for "New Visions" workshop is
AAM member:     $60
Non-member:     $100
