Hi all,

If any of you at medical museums could post this even on your calendars, I'd
appreciate it. Likewise, if you are in the DC area, please come by or bring an
exhibit!

Thanks!

Civil War Medical and Military Medical Showcase
Saturday and Sunday, 26 and 27 April
9-4 Saturday; 10-4 Sunday.
A military medical history extravaganza at Poplar Hill on His Lordship’s
Kindness in Clinton, MD. Many periods represented, including Indian Wars, War
of 1812, Civil War, WWII, Korean War and modern units. A battle reenactment
starts at 1 p.m. each day and surgeons of the medical units start to work as
the casualties stream in from the battlefield. As a civilian observer, you may
have to lend a hand evacuating the wounded from the field. Compare the
differences and advances in military medicine though time as the day
progresses. Vintage military vehicles, a modern ambulance, a helicopter,
displays on bioterrorism, with isolation and bioterrorism team demonstrations.
Visit the camps and talk with soldiers about the hardships and why they are
fighting. The Poplar Hill historic house and carriage collection will be open
for tours.

Units interested in participating contact Col. Suellyn Wright Novak
