The Campbell Historical Museum in Campbell, CA is looking for a summer intern to develop and begin to conduct an Oral History Project. Interested parties, please see description below.

Oral History Project, Intern

Project Scope:
The Campbell Historical Museums are working to reinstate their Oral History Project, which was founded in the 1970s. The intern will work independently, while coordinating with her supervisor, to develop a new Oral History Project procedure manual. The intern will then carry out oral history interviews with select members from the Campbell community.

Project will include, but is not limited to:
-	An assessment of the current oral history collection to note how it was conducted and to make recommendations for improvement and future care.
-	The creation of new procedures for completing, storing, and transcribing oral histories by researching industry standards and best practices.
-	The completion a few oral histories (about 10) to get the project started.

Requirements/Skills needed:
-	Graduate degree (completed or in process) in Museum Studies, History, Public History, Anthropology, or related field
-	Strong research skills
-	Ability to create a detailed and thorough procedure manual
-	Organized 
-	Ability to meet deadlines and keep to timelines
-	Good social skills, with the ability to conduct professional oral history interviews
-	Comfortable working alone, with guidance from supervisor

Preferred Skills:
-	Previous experience conducting interviews
-	Experience with an oral history program or knowledge about oral history programs
-	PastPerfect
-	Excel

Internship Details:
The internship is unpaid, and will last about 3 months (though timeline is flexible). Hours worked per week can be negotiated, and there is the option to work from home for select stages of the project.
The position will be open until filled, but we would like to start Summer, 2015.
