I have to admit that I've used them as a kid. The Chicago Museum of
Science and Industry had all kinds of these gadgets. I remember
putting money into a machine that formed plastic Lincolns and a
petroleum exhibit that, depending on your luck, dispensed a "gusher"
medal. There were other things like that as well. Souvenirs -- the
question is "why not?"
