Thanks David. I quite agree and suspect that it is too harsh chemically if
it does what it says it does. This is why I am making my inquiries on
museum-l. Calcium carbonate is always a safe option... if not time
consuming.

Will be happy to share the MSDS sheet whenever I get it with anyone who
wants it.

Best,
Ware

Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] Maas Polish

Ware,

I read the claims for this polish on their web site and I would highly
recommend caution. Silver is particularly sensitive to both the
abrasiveness and chemistry of metal polishes and irreversible damage
can happen to the original surfaces in attempts to quickly brighten up
an object's appearance.

Please share the MSDS with me before you actually order and use this
stuff and I will share my thoughts with you and the list on this
product.

I have over 10 years experience as a specialist in metals conservation
and treated almost 1000 historic silver objects and other metals.

Cheers!
Dave
