Collin,

Purchase Sherry Butcher-Yunghans book Historic House Museums: A Practical
Handbook for Their Care, Preservation, and Management. I believe the AAM
bookstore sells it. It has checklists and how-to-do sections.

Subject: Routine Maintenance List Request

Dear Colleagues:
I am the director of a small, fledgling museum in Houston. Please
contribute
items for a routine maintenance list. I have asked our maintenance man to
do
several cosmetic things, but now is the time to establish a list.

Our facility is a 1930s Pioneer Revival Style Lodge. It was built as a
reception hall, so it is not technically an historic home, but shares a lot
of similarities. A good example of our house's appearance is that of a
mountain lodge--with high ceilings, a stone fire place and large rooms.
With
these facts in mind.....

What suggestions can those of you make from an historic homes angle.
