I strongly support her suggestion. It'd be very helpful and fast to obtain
an answer to specific problem solving approaches.

I don't know of any on-line guides, but wanted to suggest a couple of items:
You may find it useful to begin a list of answers to frequently asked
questions. It's amazing what people ask, every day, that you won't have the
answers to in your plans and other info!
Also, you might keep some blank index cards at the desk so that people can
write down questions for the curator(s). This way, they can ask questions
that you may not have the answers to, and someone can get back to them
later. It is also a nice customer service touch. I worked at the information
desk of a heavily visited museum, and this was immensely helpful.
