Star, you might want to check with the Culture & Heritage Museums in
South Carolina - www.chmuseums.org - and their quest to turn an old jr.
high school in York, SC into a community center. The CHM is a
county/private nonprofit partnership that manages and uses the
county-owned building. There was an article in the local newspaper just
this morning -

the preservation of the building being taken before the county's
residents as part of a bond referendum.
