Special Assistant
Full time entry level position providing assistance to CEO of locally based corporation, involved in buying, selling, and appraising antiques. He/She often acts as a primary contact person to outside clientele and routinely answers phone and email inquiries, composes correspondence, and courteously greets gallery visitors. The special assistant also accompanies the CEO on house calls assisting in cataloging, packing, and loading and is expected to perform research, both through traditional methods and over the internet, and will on occasion act as a buyer at local auctions of eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth century American and European fine and decorative arts as well as collectibles. Responsibilities also include continuous maintenance of the reception area and providing varying degrees of support to other positions within the corporation.

Successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in the arts or related fields and strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on written and oral communication skills. Applicant must be organized, physically fit, able to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment, and computer literate. An interest in art and antiques is preferable.

Position is full time, Monday-Friday (generally 8am-5pm) with some nights and weekends as required for auctions.

Salary starts at $20,800/yr plus profit sharing & paid holidays.
