I interned at the National Gallery of Art in Summer of
2000. I really enjoyed the experience! They have a
great program where you not only participate in
sessions with the other interns weekly in different
departments of the museum- i.e. one week you visit the
Registrar's office, the next you visit Conservation,
but you also work in a specific department throughout
your summer internship. I worked in the Gallery
Archives during my internship. The people I worked
with in Archives were wonderful. Plus, it was just
amazing being on the "inside" at such a well known
institution.

There were other perks to the internship as well- you
get to meet other people studying museum work, and
living in DC during the summer can't be beat!

Good luck to you!
