I'd say calling people and institutions elitist is a very common problem. I
frequently hear Republicans call Democrats elitist, and I get tired of it.
I've stopped worrying about the claim that museums are elitist, whether they
charge admission fees or not. It's an easy excuse. Are movie theaters, theme
parks, and rock concerts elitist because they keep out people who cannot afford
to get in? Ridiculous.
