                           JOB OPENING
 
The  Art and Architecture Thesaurus, a project of the  Getty  Art
History  Information Program, located in Williamstown, MA,  seeks
an  Editor  for decorative arts and  material  culture.   Primary
responsibilities  include researching candidate terms from  users
for  inclusion  in the AAT, participating in the  development  of
editorial  policies, and reviewing of the work of other  editors.
This  person  will  also assist in the  preparation  of  training
materials  for AAT users and is expected to participate  in  user
liaison activities.
 
Qualifications include a graduate degree in museum studies or art
history,  specializing  in decorative arts or  material  culture.
Three  to  four years experience working with museum  objects  or
other  cataloging  experience and  familiarity  with  collections
management  systems  and  controlled  vocabularies  is  required.
Excellent  written  and  verbal  communication  skills,  computer
skills,  and reading knowledge of at least one  Western  European
language or Latin is required.
