Our Museum's collection consists of many pieces of "war booty" covering many
eras. Our "booty" ranges from Confederate to Spanish to German (both World
Wars), Japanese, North Korean, North Vietnamese and Iraqi. If acquired
though the proper means "war booty" can be an integral part of a collection.
Without it only half of the story of a conflict would be represented. We are
currently working with active military personal in Iraq to acquire captured
Iraqi military artifacts for our collection. If these items were not being
sent to a museum they would just be destroyed. The question should be how
well does captured Iraqi artifact work into your museum's statement. If it
fits then it can be a good addition to your collection.
