TECHNICAL ANALYST

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Technical Analyst for the Information Systems and Technology Department.  Responsibilities include providing telephone, e-mail, walk-in, and on-site technical support as needed for service calls assigned through the Help Desk according to Departmental procedures, providing augmentative and collaborative support as needed for IS&T Staff regarding difficult Help Desk call assignments, providing mentoring and instruction on the use of Help Desk application and customer service skills to IS&T staff, interns, apprentices, and other software, connecting computer equipment to the Museum LAN in collaboration with other IS&T staff, troubleshooting computers, diagnosing computer problems, recommending solutions, resolving computer problems, or escalating call to appropriate staff, assisting with Virus protection software setup and use across all Museum PCs, updating Technical Support Staff on regular basis regarding problem resolutions discovered, documenting problem resolutions, adding information to the IS&T knowledge Base, participating actively in Technical Support Team activities and meetings, acting as substitute instructor for IS&T in-house training classes, as needed and assigned, developing new course materials, assisting IS&T Trainer to develop new course offerings.  The ideal candidate must have experience in a busy office environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of training others, ability to work and produce results independently and as part of a collaborative team, must be able to coordinate and accomplish multiple activities simultaneously.  Must be familiar with the installation and support of the Following: Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP (Workstation and/or Server), Microsoft Windows95/98, Ethernet Networking solutions, MS-Office97/2000/XP (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), Virus Protection software, Macintosh operating systems and software.  Must maintain knowledge of current computer technologies, and all technologies in use at the Museum.  At least 2 years experience supporting computers and networks preferred.  B.A. degree is required, MOUS/MCSE or equivalent beneficial. VB/HTML PROGRAMMER

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Executive Assistant for the Finance Department.  Responsibilities include handling day-to-day administrative matters for the Chief Financial Officer, including answering phones and taking messages, preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings and providing general operating support, administrative support for the Office of Planning and Budget, including phone coverage, scheduling meetings and other operations al support, providing principal administrative support for key Board of Trustees related activities, including scheduling of Finance and Audit Committee meetings, preparation and distribution of materials for these meetings, and working closely with Committee members or their designees, setting up travel itineraries for the CFO and other staff, handling departmental purchasing, tracking of departmental budgets, maintenance of office equipment and supplies, and handling general inquiries for the Office of the SVP and CEO.  The ideal candidate must be extremely organized and efficient and able to successfully handle multiple tasks.  Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with staff throughout the Museum as well as members of Board of Trustees and their staffs and visitors.  Strong typing and computer skills required and the ability to draft various forms of correspondence.  B.A. degree is required.
