Having missed the original posting on this, and without access to a decent
daily newspaper (it hasn't yet made USA Today), would someone explain what
the real issue is?  Is the MET opposing sidewalk art sales in front of its
domain?  If so, shame on the MET!  Is the city refusing to issue a permit?
If so, on what grounds?  Do the artists involved simply refuse to abide by
normal regulations and apply for a permit?  Get real, folks!
