Diane's pointers are excellent. I have subscribed to
a newsletter called HotJobs which provides outstanding
interviewing subtle nuances: leaning in on an
interview, laughing too much, etiquette, etc. I
recommend it to you as a free and easy (one page
daily) newsletter to help you prepare for your job
search.

I have no affiliation with HotJobs except to use their
newsletter. In the same vein, I have no affiliation
with http://www.museumstuff.com (except in collegial
spirit with it's owner, Roy Hemmat, who can
occasionally be found here), but I will tell you he
has a number of professional links on his ever
improved and improving web site.

I am affiliated with the web site at the bottom of my
sig line (newly added). I put it up for the benefit
of any and all who may be looking for a job. There
are number of museum and nonprofit resources--quite a
few already named here--contained on that site as well
as other important pointers like resumes, headhunters,
employment interviewing tips, pricing a job,
relocation help, and employment law. There are also
some geographic-specific resources. I suggest you
consider adding it to your collection of resources.

Further, it bears noting I have no affiliation with
Idealist.org except that I believe they do put out
quality updates and, in the interest of trying to help
those in need--like me today--of finding a job.

The job market is scary and sometimes frustrating, but
it's not impossible.
