Hello Subscribers

Museum-L is on the move. Bitnet is being phased out, and the University of
New Mexico is moving their listserv discussion groups to their Unix
systems. The switch over is scheduled for July 2, 1996 starting at about 11
a.m. MDT and lasting for four hours. Mail addressed to the list as well as
subscription requests submitted during this time will be processed when the
migration is complete.

After the scheduled switch over to the new system all e-mail to Museum-L
should be addressed to:

        [log in to unmask]

Listserv commands, such as subscribe and signoff, should be addressed to:

        [log in to unmask]

I will be posting further instructions as I get them.

The UNM Unix system is not able to support archives at this time. I am in
the process of downloading the monthly archives dating back to July of last
year. These can be retrieved via ftp from:

ftp://nmmnh-abq.mus.nm.us/museum-l

I will be archiving the postings on a daily basis, although there may be a
lapse of a few days before the postings are available on the server.

For those who read museum-l using the newsgroup bit.listserv.museum-l, I am
working to ensure continued service.
