While I like to get Museum-L postings as mail, one of the advantages I
see in transferring to the newsgroup format has to do with NAGPRA. Those
of us affected could use a place where we could post the repatriation
requests we've received and so discuss them or correspond privately. I
haven't seen any such postings on Museum-L during the relatively brief
time I've been on, and suppose that beginning to do so would
unnecessarily burden what is already an active list. However, the
newsgroup format would allow others to skip them out of lack of interest
or concern.

I have considered setting up a new list to handle just such things. If
anyone knows whether one already exists, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.
