Dear Mr. Marcavitch and Mr. McGregor:

For a more up-to-date view on the duties of a modern Museum Registrar try
these two excellent publications. THE NEW MUSEUM REGISTRATION METHODS
edited by Rebecca Buck and Jean Allman Gilmore (American Association of
Museums, 1998) has a very detailed composite Job Description for the
Registrar as well as superb chapters detailing solutions for problems we
deal with every day.

Also try REGISTRARS ON RECORD edited by Mary Case (RC-AAM, 1995) and read
the essay "What Registrars Do All Day". In fact, read the whole book.

It is amazing how the role of the Registrar has changed in the last 20 years.
