EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville, an Evansville-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of children and families, is seeking a motivated and dynamic executive to oversee a staff of 30 and administer a budget of $850,000. Successful applicant will bring leadership experience in fundraising, management, operations and a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with community leaders and a committed board and staff. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Responsibilities include:

•       Carrying out policies, goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors.
•       Recommending policies and procedures that enable cMoe to carry out its vision, mission and values.
•       Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children’s museum and managing a staff of 30 with approximately 65,000 annual visitors.
•       Overseeing the planning and execution of the fund development plan and priorities.
•       Administering an annual budget in excess of $850,000.
•       Serving a leadership role in strategic and long-range planning.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
•       Career experience in a leadership position in a museum, nonprofit, business, foundation, healthcare, government or civic organization.
•       Committed relationship manager with demonstrated success in leading and empowering staff; reaching out to the community, participating with people of diverse backgrounds and building rapport with those who have varying viewpoints and perceptions.
•       Proven ability in nonprofit fundraising from corporations, foundations, government and individuals;
•       Demonstrated ability to raise community awareness and clearly articulate a message of vision and direction
•       Proven ability to plan, execute and evaluate large projects, budgets and special events
•       Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
