Sign needs for museums: Our main need is getting one-of signs. Most of
the interesting graphics processes are for printing thousands of the
same thing. But a museum display just needs one at a time.
Most of the medium and large museums I've seen have an in-house
silk-screen shop and I guess don't count the costs for each print.
We don't have in-house facilities, so we get screened or painted signs
only when there's a large project appropriation.
For small projects and changing displays, we get creative with desktop
laser printers and colored papers. The newer color laser prints from
copy shops are getting to look very nice, now.
