All of the methods you mentioned are useful ones for naming galleries;
you also have the "In Memoriam" sponsored ones or galleries that are
named by a yearly sponsor or a perpetual one.  It isn't just art
galleries but history, zoos, aquariums that name their galleries by way
of sponsorships or grants or underwriting.
