I use a Minolta T-1 Illuminance meter. They run about $700.

It has never misbehaved, given suspect readings, or failed in any way.

I believe the old one that was here when I started was an extech. Little
gray thing that came from Mcmaster Carr. Whatever it was, it never gave me
the same reading twice. it''s still floating around here somewhere, but it
has been shelved since we got the T1.

Hello listers,

I was wondering if anyone out there uses Extech Instruments Corp's light
meters. I'm updating the research for a 1990 article about measuring
light levels for artwork. If you use their products, do you like them?...
hate them?... Also, if there are any other favorite light meters you can
recommend, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
