Are you speaking of assault by a volunteer, or assault by a stranger who
comes into the museum? I don't have experience with either, but would be
interested in hearing other responses. We try to never leave a volunteer
alone at the museum when it is open, and definitely do not if they are under
18. In fact, even when the museum is closed and locked up, I wouldn't leave
an under-18 volunteer here alone.

I also rely on my gut instinct regarding what volunteers I might leave alone
together, particularly when dealing with short-term volunteers who I don't
know well.
