I recommend Past Perfect software. It has databases for Objects, Photos,

Archives, and Library materials, plus it can handle donations and

membership information. Not too expensive, easy to use. They even have a

demo available online, I think.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] software

Hi,

I was hoping to get some opinions on software for our historical

society. We are looking to start a catalog, and I want to get an idea

of the programs people use.

1. What software would you recommend for a small collection with a small

budget?

2. Does anyone use a software they like from a PC? How about software

for a Mac?

3. What are the best resources to consult for buying archival

cataloging software?

Thanks,

Siobhan Ryan
