Does anyone have any comments on using digital images as opposed to
slide format images for an image library?
We have a collection of 4,000 + photographic prints we need to make an
image library of, for browsing purposes, back-up purposes, publicity and
web uses, classroom use.

My inclination is stick with tradition and go with slide format -
stable, high quality, low maintenance, fairly easily duplicated, easy to
digitize as needed.

My colleagues here wonder if anyone has had experience with digital
image libraries - are they worth the extra trouble and expense?

Thanks,
Mandy Oates
