Director of Marketing and Public Information

The following is posted for the American Association for
State and Local History (AASLH).  Please respond directly
by letter to AASLH.  No e-mail address.  No phone calls
accepted.

The American Association for State and Local History seeks an
experienced Director of Marketing and Public Information to be
part of a five-person team working from the Association's
national headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.  The Association's
mission is to provide service to its members via professional
development opportunities, an annual meeting, first-rate
publications, a quarterly magazine, a monthly newsletter, etc.

The Director of Marketing and Public Information will be
responsible for the coordination and production of a monthly
newsletter, a quarterly magazine, brochures, stationery, and
other printed material.  The person will be responsible for
meeting specific sales goals for ad space in the montly
newsletter, quarterly magazine, exhibit hall space at the
annual meeting.  Must be able to write and communicate
effectively; have experience with desktop publishing, word-
processing and data base; have sales/marketing experience;
have meeting planning experience; and experience in public
relations/information.

Position offers salary commensurate with experience; paid
vacation and sick leave; paid health, life and disability
insurance.  Marketing, journalism or related degree preferred.
