Tacoma Art Museum

The Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) is seeking a dynamic individual for the position
of executive director. TAM collections concentrate on paintings and works on
paper of the 19th and 20th centuries, with an emphasis on art of the
Northwest. The museum is noted for its active changing exhibition program and
award-winning educational programs that serve a variety of audiences including
school children, families, and senior citizens. The museum has launched a $25
million campaign to build a new 50,000 square foot facility to be designed by
Antoine Predock, with groundbreaking for the new facility  scheduled for 2000,
and the opening to the public in 2002.   The candidate must have strong
leadership abilities, creative and flexible problem solving skills, and the
ability to direct and motivate staff. Individuals applying should have proven
skills in fund raising, public and community relations and be capable of
formulating future directions for the museum. Closing date for recruitment:
