Well I can see that museums are not the only ones that gets hung up on salaries.
I have been practicing as an Architect for twenty-five years and have heard all the same stories. (Different profession same stories)
My first boss even told me his definition of an Architect was "someone who sits on a high stool and draws a low salary". Needless to
say it took me several years to progress to a reasonable salary range.
This brings up my point. I can not wait to get up in the morning and work on the design of one of these Children's Museums, Art
Studios, Libraries or Recreational Facilities. Regardless of salary, I cannot imagine a different profession that I would rather do.
So if you are not enjoying what you do then maybe you need a job change, or make yourself better than anyone else to be in a
position to negotiate the bigger bucks.
Is more really better???????
Look at the enclosed and consider this.
