You have received a number of useful responses with references to resources for an exhibit presentation. You might also consider developing a few questions, both general and specific, that you can ask locally of people who are potential visitors (or not), to see if you will be meeting their expectations. It need not be a long questionnaire, and you need not ask everyone. But, enough people to get an idea of their response to what you and your group expect to do. Your public will no doubt have some things to say that could be helpful.
