Hello,

I thought that the members of museum-l might be interested in seeing the
results of a little project we recently finished, and get the resulting
online art souvenir. The University Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive
recently worked with Berkeley Systems (the makers of After Dark screensaver
software) to create a custom screen-saver module using images from one of
our current exhibitions; David Lance Goines.

We've put the screen-saver modules (for Mac and Windows) online as part of
the exhibition so you can download it freely. When someone visits a gallery
exhibition, they might take home a catalog, t-shirt, or mug; when you visit
this exhibition online you can take a screen-saver souvenir. We wanted to
play with this idea, and it also makes a great gift for donors,
token/reminder of the museum, incentive to visit us online, etc. These
clear, linear works translate well onto the computer screen too.

I'd like to thank Berkeley Systems and the artist for agreeing to work with
us on this, and letting us distribute it for free on the Internet!

Come on by and get your copy, at http://www.uampfa.berkeley.edu/
under Exhibitions....Goines...

(of course I hope you explore a little to see all the other new material
online, including a video clip of Oppenhiemer quoting the Baghavad Gita
after the first Trinity Site test, and other interesting material...:-)
