< history is more
attractive to donors than is art simply because history is NOT perceived
as
elitist and has a broader appeal-> Interesting- a classic case of the
grass is always greener. The history guy thinks art is easier to raise
money for and the art lady the opp! Personally, I think the science
museums have it made. Actually different museum can coll. on a lot of
projects such as events (holiday open houses special open nights) but it
gets very difficult in exhibitions when their philosophy is often very
different. A few years ago the art museum and the history museum in
Omaha were cooperating in a major fund drive. Does anyone know if that
was successful?
