Yeah, I'm a tad mystified, too, at the note of near-hysteria
regarding a directory.  Reminds me of a guy I knew who subscribed to
the local paper, but always got it a day late because he had it
mailed to his PO box rather than flung by some kid--he didn't want
the newspaper to have his home address.
 
I figure the bad guys--whoever they are--are going to find me no
matter how I try to hide.  I'm a lot more afraid of making it hard
for friends (or potential friends) to connect.
