I'm still searching, too. I've tried many "boards" but have come back to using 100% rag mat 4 ply (protested) with Seal mounting stock (mostly MT-5). The pre toasting reduces the tendency to act like barometers in the galleries.
The Seal presses (210 commercial) were purchased at Federal and State Surplus for $10 and $20 each. The $20 press has the dial temp read out and came with rolls of mounting tissue, tacking iron, and a box of temperature determining strips. Not bad.
Look to http://www.nasasp.org/sasps.htm for the contact and address of your local Surplus.
A 1" X (smaller than the label) strip of scrap 1/2" fomecore is hot glued to the back of each label. Two pieces of 7/64" rod (read coat hanger) are placed poking out from pre drilled holes in the case background. The label is leveled and stuck to the protruding rods. We've found
that the two small holes in the case back are easier/quicker to patch during change overs. Label changes (AHHHH) are (more) easily accommodated by removing the "wrong label" and simply sticking in the new.
