Having done something similar in a theatre production, we managed to
get a local blueprinting place to print us two signs, about the
dimensions you named, and laminate them (they had to get painted over
and washed off every night) for about $150 total, though I think they
knocked some off for getting an advert in our program. These were
full-color, edge-to-edge reproductions of 17th century oil paintings.

That was four years ago, but you might call a few blueprint places and
see if they can give you quotes; most have large-scale laminating
machines and a good minority have large-scale color printing.

The advantage of vinyl signs or laminated paper signs as opposed to
board or foam-mounted signage is that you can roll them up for easy
carry -- I picked up ours and rode cross-town with them on a bicycle
-- so long as you have somewhere to tack them up when you get where
you're going. We used wooden frames with embedded butterfly clips to
hang ours.

Good luck!
