Doug, re your search for maritime book distributors:

I don't have any "red hot" leads for you, but a suggestion. I have
developed a searchable database of museum websites, and you may have some
success by searching this for the keyword "maritime". This will give you a
list of links to about 30 maritime oriented museums in the U.S. You could
then check out individual sites for possible contact concerning how they
obtain books for their shops. Just an idea. You can access the searchable
database through http://museumstuff.com
