The Wisconsin Veterans Museum announces the establishment of its World Wide
Web home page. The site is still under construction, but has been developed
enough to make an interesting place to visit and a potentially valuable
research site. The URL address is:

http://badger.state.wi.us/agencies/dva/museum/wvmmain.html

At present, the site contains information about the museum's exhibit
galleries, the archives and library, giftshop, and a listing of links to
other military history Internet sites. In the next several weeks
information about the museum's artifact collections, programs and lectures,
and other topics will be added.

The Wisconsin Veterans Museum encompasses the military history of Wisconsin
from the Civil War through the Persian Gulf War. In addition to military
materials, the WVM houses an extensive collection of artifacts and
manuscripts related to Wisconsin veterans organizations, including the state
branches of the Grand Army of the Republic and the American Legion. The
museum is operated by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, and the
WVM web site is part of the WDVA's home page.
