...And then there was the time I jokingly presented a real Oscar (on loan
from the Motion Picture Academy) to a colleague for "acting surprised" at his
"surprise" retirement party (but I grabbed it and returned it to the
collection when he wasn't looking).  I confess that I failed to add a note to
the file about the temporary absence of the object.  Call me irresponsible...
but I'm still serious about collection security despite this lapse of
judgment.
