If you want it inexpensive and compatible use Microsoft Access. We recommend
this to our clients with smaller collections.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] collection software

> I am looking for a collection management software program that would be
> appropriate for a private collector's sizable collection. Ideally the
> program would be able to organize basic curatorial information on a
variety
> of types of arts and artifacts, record provenance and purchase, location,
> and conservation information. The ability to link a picture would also be
> helpful. The program would need to work on a Windows platform. To top it
> off, it would be nice if it was reasonably priced!
>
> I have heard of several programs including: My Home Inventory, The
> Collector, Antique Dealer FastTrack Inventory and Business Management
> Platinum Software, ArtWorks, The Museum System (TMS) Light. Any advice on
> the suitability of these or other programs would be greatly appreciated.
> Thank you.
