If you are not familiar with it already, the National Park Services'
Harper's Ferry Conservation Center has put out an excellent CD Rom on
Exhibit Conservation Guidelines. This is an excellent introduction to an
overall approach for constructing safe exhibition cases. There are
narrative guidelines, technical specifications and lots of illustrations on
case design. You can order it on-line
http://www.nps.gov/hfc/products/cons/ex-con-guidelines.htm

Best,
Rachael Perkins Arenstein
Conservator in Private Practice.
